Family Camp for Stacy

Every year Stacy and her family go to Family Camp at the Boy Scout Camp - Camp Bartlett.  This year she was going to be on staff helping run the camp and she needed a hard sided trailer.  Under the current circumstances Nate was more than happy to drive our trailer up there for her so she and Payton could still go.  We decided to make a day of it.  We left about 10:30 stopping in Preston for lottery tickets.  My Mom came with us and she is convinced that is going to win it some day so we can't ever pass the chance to get lottery tickets.  We got Stacy all set up at camp, had lunch and then went to Oneida Reservoir to fish.  Well tried to fish I should say....Nate had no luck except in the crawdad department.  They were all over, you could just pick them up out of the water and so that is exactly what the boys did, GROSS!!  We brought Aubree's BFF Taylee along too and they had fun playing in the water and making a rock collection.

Cute, cute girls!!

My nephew Payton displaying his crawdad right before he ripped his head off....so sick!!

My Mom

My niece Kiera and her boyfriend Boots.

A long day in the car always calls for some cookies.

This picture doesn't do the view justice, the hills were covered in yellow flowers.  It was beautiful.

This is about the time that delirious set in, they were so tired by the time we started our way home.  With the three of us in the back of the truck it didn't make for the most comfortable sleeping positions either.  Good thing Taylee is so tiny and that Aubree can sleep anywhere.  And pay no attention to the wrap on Taylee's arm, that is their new thing.....to pretend like they broke their arms.  Silly girls.

1st Grade Field Trip to the Zoo - May 2011

In May Aubree's class went on a field trip to the zoo.....and so did every other school in Northern Utah.  Holy Cow!!!  There were something like 15 buses parked up in the bus parking lot, it was crazy.  The kids got to pack their own lunch when they got to school in the morning before they got on the bus.  When they got off the bus Mrs. Helms assigned a few kids to each parent and then you were on your own.  I had Aubree of course and then Morgan and Aylee Huot not to be confused with Aylee Nott, hahaha.  Morgan is one of my friends little girls and so I was excited to have her.  The first thing these girls wanted to do was eat lunch...so we did.  But not before I got a first picture right before the tigers.

Aubree and the sandwich she made all by her self.

This is Morgan

....and this is Aylee.

Baby Zuri was a very important stop.  Their class mascot is an elephant so we spent a lot of time there.

Each class got to wear a different color shirt and each child drew their own picture that got put on the shirt.  Aubree was lucky enough to get to draw Mrs. Helms picture too!!!

After all the other kids got loaded back on the bus I kept Aubree and we stole Taylee so we could spend a few extra hours at the zoo.  Their time there was very short because the buses have to get back to pick up high school students and they get out of school a lot earlier.  I am glad I did, it gave us a little more time to see everything and of course ride the train which is always a highlight.

These two are just so cute and funny together, I love em'.

Slipin' and a Slidin'

Heidi had a PTA BBQ she had to go to, so Shadie and Roedy came over to hang out with us the other night.  The second Nate walked in the door they attacked him to get the Slip and Slide down from the garage.  I was NOT about to do it, I am sure it had a family of spiders living in it.  I am surprised the dumb thing even blew up.  Anyway, it kept their attention for, oh...... 10 minutes.  Looks like it was a fun 10 minutes though.  The neighbors next door have a pool so the kids went over there for a little bit and swam, we played Head Banz the game, had dinner and finished the night off with chocolate frosting graham cracker sandwiches.  As you can see, I think that was their favorite part.  Oh, and I was thinking I was super cool because Roedy didn't ask for his Mom one time....come to find out he text her a bunch of times telling her he had a belly ache.  They never told me that though, guess I am not as cool as I think.

Nice teeth, doesn't your Mothers make you brush?

Girl Scouts 2011

Jade decided to be VERY ambitious and put the girls into Girl Scouts.  Every Monday she would drive all the way down to Aubree's school to pick her up and then I would meet them at their meeting and pick her up when it was over.  It was cute and they did a few fun things.......and then......it was COOKIE TIME!!!!  Jade momentarily lost her ever livin mind and agreed to be the "Cookie Mom".  Wow, what a job!!!  It was fun for a little bit and the girls loved selling the cookies.  But next time.....I don't think we will make a point to sale 750 boxes, I am going to be OK with being and under achiever.

This is the ceremony where they officially became "Daisy" Girl Scouts.

 So proud!

 Coco getting her certificate.

 Cousins make the best friends.

This was a beautiful, cold, snowy morning in March.  Good thing these two cute girl scouts have their Daddy's wrapped around their fingers.  Picking up 2500 boxes of cookies is not fun!!!!  Of course they were oblivious, sitting in the warm truck playing their DS games (and sampling cookies).

 Dustin's truck.

 Our truck.

This is probably only half of what we had.  The rest of them were on the other wall of Jade's garage or had already been picked up.

3 Little Randoms

I know if I had a boy I would love him just as much but is there anything more fun than Jamba Juice and Pedi's?  I think not!!!  I love that Aubree is getting old enough to take places like this and she is starting to love to go shopping for "nothing" (or aimless wondering).  Unfortunately we usually always find something we don't need but it is all so much fun.  I just love her!!!

These are my cute nieces Taryn and Kiera.  I took them to see the new Pirates movie, you know the one..... with Johnny Depp (my crush).  It was FABULOUS!  It was so fun, we went to the movie at the Gateway and then went out to dinner at Macaroni Grill.  Aren't they beautiful?

The night of the big movie premiere was also the night of Aubree's very first "friend" sleepover with her BFF Taylee.  I had said Taylee could sleep over without thinking that it was the same night that I had the movie tickets.  But no fear, Dad handled it fabulously.  I am sure they ran wild and maybe had a bit too much candy but Daddy's are good at that, at least Aubree's Dad is.  This is what I came home to.  Both girls in the spare bedroom with every single stuffed animal and blanket they could find.  When I first went in there and only had the light of the TV it was hard to find where they started and the piles and piles of fluff ended.  I am pretty sure they had fun though and I am sure it is just the beginning of the sleepovers for these two.

Spencer's Visit

Between Jade and Grandma, the kids were busy everyday.  I love it and it warms my heart to see them play together and make priceless memories they will have forever.  My best friends when I was little were my cousins Gina and Traci.  I think back and wonder, did I ever sleep at home?  These four little ones had a blast together.  Jade and Dustin have a pool and so the kids were basically swimming everyday.  The also went to Fat Cats, a movie and the Dinosaur Park.  Nate and I had to work so we didn't get to take part in much but I think they probably had more fun without us.

Thank you so much to Nate's parents and Jade and Dustin for always taking such good care of Aubree.  I know she has fun with you and you guys are all amazing.

A Mommy's Broken Heart

So, our nephew Spencer (on Nate's side) comes down from Couer D'Alene, Idaho to stay with Grama and Grampa for a week every summer.  This is the week and so Aubree is staying over there or at Jade's a lot to play and take part in all the activities Grama has planned.  Sunday night she stayed at Jade's and then last night she was going to Grama's with all the kids for a sleep over and then a movie day today.  I was missing her so much last night but I didn't want to call to tell her goodnight, just in case she was going to do the "I want you" thing.  But at 10:00 ring, ring went my phone and it was my little baby crying saying......yep, you guessed it "I want you".  I was secretly kind of happy, (don't tell anybody though).  Two nights in a row is hard for me.  She has only stayed away from us for more than one night a handful of times and YES, I do know that she is seven and that I am not going to die.  Anyway.....I tell her that I will come and get her so by now it is 10:30 and I am on may to Ogden to pick up my little baby that wants her Mom (I just love it!!!!).  I am all the way to Roy and my phone rings again, I was fully expecting "How long Mom?" but no, it was Grama saying she is sound asleep.  What a little stinker!!!  She was asleep and I had to go back home and miss her.....I was sad.  I did tell her a little white lie this morning though, I told her that I came to get her and in her sleep she said she wanted to stay and she said "No, I didn't, I still wanted you to take me".  She will live and so will I.....I think.
